Wiley Secures Victory for U.S. Catfish Industry in Sunset Review of Imports from Vietnam

June 18, 2026

Washington, DC – In a victory for the domestic catfish industry, Wiley helped persuade the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) to extend relief on unfairly traded frozen fish fillets from Vietnam.

The ITC unanimously determined on June 11, 2026, that the existing antidumping order on these imports remains in place for at least another five years. The decision on this order comes under the fourth sunset review process as required by the Uruguay Round Agreements Act.

Agreeing with arguments advanced by Wiley on behalf of Catfish Farmers of America (CFA), the ITC found that revocation of the order would lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to the domestic industry

“We commend the ITC’s decision to continue this important trade relief for another five years,” said Hon. Nazak Nikakhtar, counsel to CFA, who is chair of Wiley’s National Security Practice and a partner in the International Trade Practice. “This is another critical step in maintaining a level playing field for the U.S. industry, and preventing a resurgence of unfairly traded imports.”

The Wiley team representing CFA also includes International Trade partner Stephanie M. Bell, associates John Allen Riggins and April Her Song, and International Trade Analyst Keysha Martinez.
