Wiley Partners Robert DeFrancesco, Brian Walsh Named 2022 ‘MVPs’ by Law360

September 8, 2022

Washington, DC – Wiley is pleased to announce that partners Robert E. DeFrancesco, III and Brian Walsh have been named MVPs by Law360 for 2022, reflecting their many successes for clients over the past year. DeFrancesco was recognized in the International Trade category, and Walsh was named to the list for Government Contracts.

The highly competitive MVP awards feature lawyers who have distinguished themselves by securing wins in “high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals,” Law360 said in announcing this year’s list.

DeFrancesco’s practice involves all aspects of trade law and trade remedy proceedings. With particular expertise in U.S. antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings and export control matters, he is a true MVP in the high-profile trade cases Wiley takes on – and consistently wins – for clients who represent major domestic business interests vested in keeping manufacturing jobs in the United States.

Walsh counsels and represents government contractors and subcontractors, as well as federal and state grant recipients, on a broad range of government contracts matters. He has litigated hundreds of bid protests before the U.S. Government Accountability Office and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and currently serves as Vice-Chair of the ABA Section of Public Contract Law’s Bid Protest Committee.

Competition for the MVP distinction was “fierce” this year, according to Law360. Editors reviewed more than 900 submissions to compile the list, which includes 188 attorneys from 78 firms and 38 practice areas.

Law360’s profiles of DeFrancesco and Walsh, highlighting their achievements over the past year, will be published in the coming weeks. The full list of 2022 MVPs can be found here (subscription required).
