Tim Brightbill Discusses Implications of CIT Ruling on Trump Administration's Section 122 Tariffs
Timothy C. Brightbill, co-chair of the International Trade Practice, was quoted by Law.com in the article, "‘The Bigger Action Will Be on Appeal’: Importers Battling Trump's Tariffs Face Tougher Fight in Federal Circuit," regarding the implications stemming from the Court of International Trade's ruling regarding the Trump Administration's Section 122 global tariffs, including the potential of refunds. “With the IEEPA tariffs, it was unclear if the administration really intended to pay refunds and if it would set up an automated system to do so… but now we know that Customs and Border Protection has set up an automated system called CAPE and that it’s processing refunds,” he said.
