Timothy Brightbill Discusses Dumping by Chinese Manufacturers and Its Effect Upon the U.S. Industry

Wiley Rein International Trade partner Timothy C. Brightbill was quoted in an article published yesterday in Forbes about how Chinese solar manufacturers’ dumping threatens the vitality of the domestic solar industry.

According to the article, the duties imposed by the U.S. Department of Commerce have helped prevent Chinese solar manufacturers from accumulating market power by driving competitors out of business with the ultimate goal of controlling prices.

“These [Chinese solar manufacturing] companies almost succeeded in wiping out the entire solar manufacturing industry in the United States,” Mr. Brightbill said.
