FCC to Host Online Public File Demonstration on July 17, 2012

July 9, 2012

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) has announced that on July 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. EST it will host a public demonstration of its online public file system.  As indicated in a recent Client Alert, television licensees will be required to upload most portions of their public inspection files beginning as early as August 2, 2012.

According to the FCC, the demonstration will overview the design and content of the online public file system and instruct broadcasters on uploading information, including the use of file-sharing tools.  The demonstration will be available as a live web stream at www.fcc.gov/live or in-person at FCC Headquarters in the Commission Meeting Room.

If you have questions regarding the online public file and online political file requirements, please contact one of the attorneys listed below or the Wiley Rein attorney who regularly handles your FCC matters.
