Seasoned Public Policy Attorney Crystal Tully Joins Wiley’s TMT Practice

Washington, DC – Wiley, a preeminent DC law firm, announced that Crystal Tully has joined the firm’s Telecom, Media & Technology Practice as special counsel. Well known within the communications and technology sectors, Tully served as the Deputy Staff Director for the U.S Senate Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation for over four years, where she oversaw legislative agendas including telecommunications, technology, consumer protection, data privacy, cybersecurity, aviation, surface transportation, and space. Tully previously led the Commerce Committee’s communications and technology policy team.

Most recently, Tully served as General Counsel for Investigations & Nominations for the Senate Armed Services Committee, where she advanced a wide range of priorities before the Senate and the U.S. Department of Defense, and also assisted in drafting relevant titles of the National Defense Authorization Act. She aided in the enactment of several landmark bills including the CHIPS and Science Act, the Broadband DATA Act, the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act, and the Aircraft Certification, Safety, and Accountability Act.

Tully’s prior positions also include serving as policy director and counsel to Commerce Committee Chairman John Thune (R-SD); serving as senior advisor to Chairman Roger Wicker (R-MS) of the Commerce Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, Innovation and the Internet; and serving as a law clerk at both the Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission.

Tully earned her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School and her B.A. from the University of New Hampshire.
