Wiley Rein & Fielding LLP Establishes Annual Blood Drive in Honor of Karen A. Kincaid

October 2, 2001

Washington, DC—Wiley Rein & Fielding LLP announces the establishment of the annual Karen A. Kincaid Memorial Blood Drive, a tribute to our friend and Partner who was aboard the American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon on September 11th. On Monday, September 24th, the firm held the first annual blood drive to honor Karen’s spirit of caring and giving. Working with the Washington Hospital Center, over 80 members of WRF gave the gift of life by donating a total of 69 usable units of blood in Karen’s memory. Commenting on the event, Richard E. Wiley, managing partner, stated, “Karen was a shining star at our firm, both professionally and personally. This memorial blood drive serves as reminder of her kind and giving nature. I think she would be proud to know that we are aiding in the disaster relief efforts, and that future blood drives will help people in need.” The annual Karen A. Kincaid Memorial Blood Drive will take place every September in honor of Karen and the families of those who died or were injured in the tragic events that took place on September 11th in Washington, DC, New York and Pennsylvania. Wiley Rein & Fielding LLP is a national law firm with offices in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia and has over 200 attorneys practicing in more than two dozen specialties of law. The firm serves a diverse clientele of domestic and international corporations, entrepreneurial ventures, associations and individuals.
