WRF Partner Begins Term as FCBA President
Washington, DC—Peter D. Shields, WRF Telecommunications partner, will commence his term as president of the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA) effective July 1, 2002.
Mr. Shields has been an active member of the FCBA since 1988. In 1994, he was the recipient of the FCBA Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year Award. Mr. Shields was first elected to the FCBA Executive Committee in 1997. During that same year he received FCBA’s Distinguished Service Award.
Mr. Shields has 15 years of experience representing clients in regulatory, policy and transactional matters before the Federal Communications Commission and State Public Utility Commissions. He serves on WRF’s management committee and chairs the firm’s associates committee. He was previously named Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by the District of Columbia Bar for his work on behalf of domestic violence victims.
The Federal Communications Bar Association is an organization of attorneys and other professionals, including engineers, consultants, economists and government officials, involved in the development, interpretation and practice of communications law and policy. The Association has more than 3,400 members and is headquartered in Washington, DC with eight chapters across the U.S.
