Defense Tech for Contractors: What's Old, What's New, and What's Next
The federal government continues pushing to get emerging technologies to the warfighter faster, with sustained emphasis on pursuing commercial solutions and nontraditional defense contractors. At the same time, new supply chain restrictions are raising compliance stakes for companies at every tier. Whether you are an established defense contractor or a new entrant, now is a good time to take stock of the available contracting tools and the obligations that come with them.
This Boot Camp will review:
- Established and newly expanded contracting authorities for emerging defense technologies, including other transaction agreements, commercial solutions openings, and SBIR/STTR;
- The Administration’s push toward commercialization and nontraditional defense contractors, and what it means for traditional primes and new market entrants;
- Recent Executive Orders and policy memoranda putting these priorities into practice and how they are shaping DoD acquisition strategy;
- The increasingly stringent regulatory framework for domestic sourcing and critical materials, and expanding restrictions on adversary-linked electronics and suppliers – including covered semiconductors, printed circuit boards, and Section 1260H-listed entities.
