Procurement Fraud, the FCA, and Grants

Grant Law Committee’s (“GLC”) second meeting of 2020 involved a lively discussion of developments in procurement fraud enforcement and False Claims Act liability and how these developments impact Federal grantees. This practical and informal discussion moderated by Co-Chair of the Procurement Fraud and False Claims Committee, Mark Sweet, and include four highly experienced practitioners in the area:

  • Andy Liu and Bob Rhoad, Nichols Liu LLP
  • Andrew Miller, Baron & Budd P.C.
  • Adam Kaplan, Senior Counsel, USAID Office of Inspector General

Also, provided legal updates and case summaries on matters of grant law from various federal agency appeals as well as other updates from the grant law community. Finally, an open discussion of the proposed rule that suggests changes to the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200).
