Wiley Earns Top Score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023 ‘Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality’ List

December 8, 2023

Washington, DC – Wiley, a preeminent DC law firm, has for the eighth consecutive year earned a top score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI). The firm has received a score of 95 out of 100 for 2023. The survey is the nation’s foremost benchmarking report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. This year 1384 major U.S. businesses were ranked in the 2023 CEI. The CEI rates employers providing these crucial protections to over 20 million U.S. workers and an additional 18 million outside of the U.S. Companies rated in the CEI include Fortune magazine’s 500 largest publicly traded businesses, American Lawyer magazine’s top 200 revenue-grossing law firms, and hundreds of publicly and privately held mid- to large-sized businesses.

The index rates companies and top law firms on detailed criteria in four key areas:

  • nondiscrimination policies across business entities;
  • equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families;
  • supporting an inclusive culture; and
  • corporate social responsibility.

In addition to robust programs, policies, and benefits advanced by the firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Department, Wiley’s LGBTQ+ & Allies Lawyers affinity group supports the firm’s DEI efforts through educational programming and networking events focused on the LGBTQ+ community.

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation is the educational arm of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people.
