Wiley Celebrates 13th Annual Pro Bono Awards
Wiley celebrated its 13th annual Pro Bono Awards, in conjunction with National Pro Bono Week, honoring Wiley community members who have worked on pro bono matters over the past year.
The event recognized over 50 Wiley community members for their pro bono work, and multiple attorneys and paralegals were presented with special, matter-specific awards, including:
- Victoria N. Lynch-Draper, who, alongside Pro Bono Partner Theodore A. Howard and associate Stephanie Rigizadeh, obtained a civil protection order in a D.C. kinship caregiver case brought under the D.C. Intrafamily Offenses Act;
- Paralegal Kristine Lynch, who assisted Theodore A. Howard, partner Jason P. Cronic, and associate Jackson McNeal in securing asylum for an Afghan refugee family who fled their home country following the collapse of the government and the Taliban’s return to power in 2021; and
- Paralegal Alexandra Fuentes-Hernandez, who assisted Theodore A. Howard and associates Stephen A. Morrison, Augusta M. Nau, Vaibhavi Patria, and Jillian M. Quigley in securing asylum for an Angolan refugee family who fled their home country due to persecution, discrimination, and violence.
Additionally, those who contributed between 50-99, 100-149, and 150 or more pro bono hours were recognized on the firm’s Pro Bono Honor Roll, High Honor Roll, and as All Stars for their efforts.
The awards took place on October 22.
Wiley’s Pro Bono Program reflects the firm’s strong tradition of service to the local and global community.
