Wiley Rein & Fielding Insurance Practice and Attorneys Recognized as Leaders in Their Field

Washington, DCChambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business has once again recognized Wiley Rein & Fielding LLP’s 40-plus attorney Insurance Practice as among the DC area’s best.  Also receiving honors are partners Thomas W. Brunner, Laura A. Foggan, Daniel J. Standish, Theodore A. Howard, all of whom have been named “Leading Individuals” in their field, and John C. Yang, who has been singled out as an “Up-and-Coming Individual.” Ratings are based on extensive interviews of law firms’ clients, colleagues and competitors.

The 2005 edition of the Chambers guide praises WRF’s Insurance Practice as “highly respected by both clients and peers alike” and notes that the group is “at the top of the pile in the DC coverage market” and has “all bases covered with expertise ranging across products liability, real estate and environmental claims.”  The group also receives plaudits for its “considerable emphasis on developing its professional liability practice” and its “niche reinsurance practice involving the continental European markets.”  Clients commented to Chambers on the group’s “innovative approach, high level of professionalism and outstanding work product.”

Chamber’s recognition of the high-caliber of WRF’s Insurance Group extends to several individual attorneys.  Practice chair Tom Brunner receives accolades for his “vast experience in the private sector and on the academic circuit” and Laura Foggan is hailed as “one of the most well-rounded attorneys.”  Dan Standish, head of the firm’s Professional Liability Group is recognized for his “writing, litigation and negotiation skills” and his “pragmatic approach;” Ted Howard receives kudos for his “diplomacy skills.”

In compiling the Chambers USA guide, researchers from London-based Chambers and Partners comprehensively evaluate law firms and attorneys on several factors, including: technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness/astuteness, diligence, commitment and other qualities most valued by clients.
