The FCC has announced that it's granted applications for 901 licenses to the winners of the 929 and 931 MHz paging auction. All of the auction winners made their payments by the June 5 deadline.

The FDA and CTIA have announced a joint study of the health risks of cellular phone use. The study comes on the levels of increased press reports regarding alleged phone use hazards. Meanwhile, the FCC and the Local and Stage Government Advisory Committee (LSGAC) have released a "plain-English” guide on RF emissions "to assist local governments and individual citizens in better understanding the origin and application of FCC safety rules to safeguard public health from RF exposure.”
