Ian Barlow Quoted by Law360 About Implications of Single-Party FTC

Ian L. Barlow, of counsel in the FTC and Consumer Protection Practice, was quoted by Law360 in the article, "A Single-Party FTC May Make Complaint OKs Easier, At A Cost," regarding the implications of single-party control of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

"It actually makes staff's job easier, in some ways," said Barlow, who formerly served as Deputy Director in the FTC's Office of Policy Planning. However, he noted, one-party control likely diminishes the influence of other commissioners from the same party as the chair. "They no longer have the opportunity to be a behind-the-scenes swing vote, or moderating influence," Barlow added.
