Craig Smith Discusses DOL’s Proposal to Raise Minimum Wage for Federal Contractors

Law360
July 26, 2021

Craig Smith, a partner in Wiley’s Government Contracts and Employment & Labor practices, was quoted in a July 21 Law360 article about the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) proposal to raise the minimum wage for federal contractors to $15 per hour. The proposed rule would implement President Biden’s April 27 Executive Order (EO) to bump up minimum wage for federal contractors beginning January 30, 2022.

“What's going to be most important for contractors is to use the next six-plus months to really understand who among their staff is covered,” Mr. Smith told Law360. “Starting that dialogue now, to have it all ready, I think, will save a lot of time and confusion.”
