William is an associate in the firm’s Litigation group and represents corporate clients, trade associations, and individuals in a variety of complex litigation matters in state and federal court from the earliest stages through appeal.
Much of his work involves representing clients on matters relating to constitutional law, administrative law, and statutory and regulatory interpretation.
William also maintains a broad pro bono practice, which includes U.S. Supreme Court amicus briefing.

- Routinely represents clients in appellate matters involving federal preemption of state regulation.
- Represents various trade associations in petitions for review of Federal Communications Commission rule.
- Represents a company and its principal in a complex discovery matter.
- Represents clients in trademark and copyright enforcement matters.
- Assists companies with legal issues associated with online brand management.
- Developed a successful strategy for client facing social media issues arising from a dispute with a major recording artist.
- Represented a transportation company in an Administrative Procedure Act challenge before the D.C. Circuit.
- Assisted insurer in crafting successful administrative appeal of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ auditing methodology.
- Co-authored brief for trade association seeking federal appellate court panel rehearing.
- Represented client in an appellate court petition for review and U.S. Supreme Court emergency stay application challenging a wide-sweeping administrative regulation.
