Scott Weaver Named One of The Hill’s ‘Top Lobbyists’ for Fourth Consecutive Year
Washington, DC — Wiley is pleased to announce that Public Policy Practice chair Scott Weaver has been named one of The Hill’s “Top Lobbyists” of 2020. It’s the fourth consecutive year on the list for Mr. Weaver, a veteran Capitol Hill staffer who serves as a senior public policy advisor at the firm.
2020 was a demanding year for K Street, the publication noted. The coronavirus pandemic and COVID-19 relief legislation, combined with presidential and congressional elections, kept lobbyists busy as they found ways to work virtually. “In a busy and challenging year for the influence world, these are the people who wielded their clout and knowledge most effectively for their clients,” according to The Hill.
Mr. Weaver has been at the forefront of historic activities at all levels of the federal government, counseling corporations, innovators, trade associations, and nonprofit organizations on how to navigate the highly volatile and complex nature of the Washington, DC landscape. As both a senior staffer on Capitol Hill and an executive in the private sector, he has helped develop numerous landmark pieces of legislation and multipronged advocacy plans.
Throughout his career, Mr. Weaver has worked closely with members of Congress on both sides of the aisle, as well as congressional committee and leadership staff, government agencies, and the Executive branch. He regularly assists clients with legislative priorities regarding transportation, health care, homeland security, financial services, tax, labor, environmental, appropriations, telecommunications, and trade issues.
Mr. Weaver previously served as vice president of Government and Political Affairs for Airports Council International – North America; chief of staff for former Rep. Katherine Harris (R-FL); and policy advisor for former Rep. John Sullivan (R-OK). He also played key roles in several Republican House, Senate, gubernatorial, and presidential races. Mr. Weaver also currently serves on numerous elected officials’ steering and advisory committees.
