Gregory Williams Named ‘International Arbitration Litigator of the Year’ by Benchmark Litigation
Washington, DC – Wiley Rein LLP is pleased to announce that Gregory M. Williams, head of the firm’s Global Disputes Group, was honored by Benchmark Litigation as the 2023 “International Arbitration Litigator of the Year.”
Selected from seven finalists, Williams was announced as the winner during the 11th Annual Benchmark USA Awards in New York. The highly selective awards, based on months of peer-review research, honor “the country’s most distinguished litigators” and law firms, according to Benchmark.
Williams serves as lead counsel in multiple high-profile, high-stakes international arbitration and litigation proceedings involving several billions of dollars in dispute. His matters are frequently multifaceted, with parallel or related proceedings in multiple fora.
Joining Williams at the March 15 awards ceremony were several members of Wiley’s Litigation Practice, which last month was named to Benchmark’s shortlist for 2023 “Washington, DC Law Firm of the Year.”
Last fall, Williams and four other Wiley partners were named “Litigation Stars” in Benchmark Litigation 2023, a prestigious guide to the world’s top litigation firms and attorneys. Recognized on that list along with Williams were Attison L. Barnes, III and Richard W. Smith, partners in the Litigation Practice; Ralph J. Caccia, chair of the White Collar Defense & Government Investigations Practice; and Tatiana Sainati (named a “Future Star”), partner in the Global Disputes and Litigation practices.
