Charles McKee, Veteran Telecom and Government Affairs Lawyer, Joins Wiley’s TMT Practice
Wiley is pleased to announce that Charles W. McKee, former Vice President of Government Affairs at T-Mobile USA, Inc., has joined the firm as a partner in the Telecom, Media & Technology (TMT) Practice. Mr. McKee served for more than a decade as Vice President of Government Affairs, Federal and State Regulatory at Sprint Corp., prior to Sprint’s acquisition by T-Mobile in April 2020.

Mr. McKee managed a large, corporate regulatory department of attorneys and executives for over 10 years, supporting business objectives before multiple government agencies. He served as a senior advisor to the CEO and senior leadership; supported the launch of new technologies, products, and services; and secured government action on large transactions. As an advocate, he has defended enforcement matters, negotiated consent decrees, arbitrated contract disputes, and briefed White House advisors and Members of Congress.

Mr. McKee managed Sprint’s regulatory department, comprised of attorneys, legal and business staff, based in offices throughout the United States and Washington, DC. He advocated policy positions before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Federal Trade Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and other federal agencies, as well as state agencies. He provided regulatory advice for the development of innovative technologies, products, and services, and the deployment of infrastructure.

A renowned thought leader, Mr. McKee has presented at numerous public forums, including the Mobile World Congress and conferences hosted by CTIA, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, the Competitive Carriers Association, INCOMPAS (formerly COMPTEL), and the FCC. Mr. McKee has a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
