Dan Pickard Discusses Federal Circuit Ruling on Diamond Sawblades
Daniel B. Pickard, a partner in Wiley Rein’s International Trade Practice, was quoted in an article published yesterday in Law360 discussing a ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit related to imported diamond sawblades.
According to the article, the unanimous opinion upheld a U.S. Court of International Trade ruling that the U.S. Department of Commerce’s policy for antidumping duties, which it changed in 2007, applies to older investigations like diamond sawblades because work had been completed by the time Commerce modified its policy. Mr. Pickard, along with Wiley Rein partner Maureen E. Thorson, represents the Diamond Sawblades Manufacturers Coalition (DSMC).
“The DSMC is very gratified by today’s decision,” Mr. Pickard told Law360. “There has been extensive litigation connected with this case, and the Federal Circuit’s recent decision should mark the final determination concerning the validity of the anti-dumping orders.”
