Daniel Pickard Discusses Recent ITC Antidumping Decision on Wire Rod Imports
Daniel B. Pickard, a partner in Wiley Rein’s International Trade Practice, was quoted in an American Metal Market article published May 30 about a recent decision by the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) regarding antidumping duties on imports of carbon and certain alloy wire rod.
According to the article, the ITC will keep existing duties on imports from Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Moldova, and Trinidad and Tobago. However, the ITC has allowed antidumping duties imposed against Ukraine to expire after the completion of the second five-year sunset review.
“We’re very pleased with the Commission’s decisions, though we’re somewhat disappointed with the ruling regarding Ukraine,” said Mr. Pickard, who represents the Charlotte, N.C.-based Nucor Corp. “Overall it’s an important win for the domestic industry.”
